After having been associated with the Vogue Beauty Awards it seemed strange to go to the Elle awards but as part of the beauty industry its essential to attend every significant industry event and both awards have become important places for the industry to meet and catch up.
The Elle awards were fun, fast paced and very focused on brands.
67 editors across the world got together to choose their pick while 1500 online participants and bloggers worked on a version of People’s choice awards. I liked the inclusion of the men’s grooming category which is growing at thirty percent in this country .
I was also very happy to see my favorite picks -Clinique’s chubby sticks, Chanel Vernis, Clarins double serum and Color bar make up win individual awards though the consolidated awards went to the brand that won the most.
The fragrance category went by too fast for my liking but the tres lovely HERMES Jour de Hermes and Dior’s J’Adore L’absolu are definitely lust worthy.
You can see the entire list of 80 winners in the October Issue of Elle .
Congratulations Aishwarya Subramanyam (editor) and Tanvi Dagli(beauty editor) for hosting a great event.
ps I didn’t care too much for the stand up act but the audience seemed to love it 🙂
Enjoy the pix even if the light is a bit low.
