Lancôme’s DreamTone launch at the Palladium hotel poolside was typical of a Lancôme event- very French and very elegant.
Balmy weather, pink cocktails, flowing gowns and a facialist and skin expert were on hand to give us our own DreamTone moments
It was a well-attended event and fun to meet with beauty editors and bloggers and catch up.
Dreamtone, as the ad says is a complexion correcting serum and dark spot corrector for an even toned flawless complexion.
It is not tinted so will not give you any coverage but claims to tackle hyper pigmentation and uneven skin at a deeper level. It has a spectrum of optical diffusers so it will make your complexion look more even toned as it continues to work on repair.
It seems to have bit of everything but the differentiating claim is it targets three different pigmentation profiles so it is more customized and individualized than a ‘one serum fits all product’
I have to say I am a bit sceptical about another hyper pigmentation product in a serum format however customised it is .
Serums are no longer a big technological breakthrough and Clinique and Kiehl’s have taken the even toned/hyper pigmentation high ground with several launches including targeted products specifically for dark spots.
Lancôme itself has two hero products – Genefique and Visionnaire that have already established their credentials .
Even though they are positioned as anti aging they work on uneven skin tone and correct dark spots.
They are both super serums and Genefique has the additional benefit of being a serum booster in case you want to layer it with another serum.
(A good serum will never sit on your skin or make it seem oily so you can layer easily over it-that’s a test you should apply when buying one. )
It will be challenging but if it delivers on its promise, DreamTone will address a relevant need for Indian skin, which is very prone to unevenness and pigmentation.
At the launch I just had time for a back of the hand test to check the texture which was light and absorbent.
Of course I will have to use it for three weeks am /pm before I can write a review.
I like to buy my products at the counter because it is a good place to check if the beauty advisors are totally convinced about their product 🙂
