July is a fragrant month …

YSL’S MANIFESTO was launched in Europe last year with Jessica Chastain as brand ambassador but will be launched in India this month.
I loved Jessica Chastain’s awesome performance in the film Zero Dark Thirty – and her persona fits the YSL woman who is always a little edgier than the others.
This is a manifesto for our times – “a Manifesto for femininity dedicated to women who live by their own personal code,” according to the inspiration notes.
Hints of cedar, lily of the valley and bergamot make this a strong, defined fragrance.
The purple slash on the bottle is a tribute to Yves St Laurent’s’ daring ( for the times) teaming of purple and fuchsia in the pop fashion scene of the sixties.

YSL has a list of iconic fragrances – Cinema,Opium, Rive Gauche, Baby doll -each one defines a mood and a moment in time.

L’Occitane’s Limited edition Frisson de Verveine takes South of France’s favorite theme and gives it a wash of citron and summer freshness.
Verbena, the heady citrus you can smell all over the Provence is the key note but it also has lemon, bergamot and cucumber and a dash of musk to make it a refreshing, summery green scent.
The bottle has embossed Verbena leaves to draw home the connection.
Available in a body gel and bath range as well.

Armani Eau d'Aromes

A new launch for men from Armani is always exciting.
Eau d’Aromes is a spicy fragrance with notes of ginger, mandarin, cardamom and chilly peppers cooled down with vetivier and bergamot.
A heady strong statement in a bottle inspired by the lines of the iconic Armani jacket.
Rs 5400
