As the bridal and festive season approach it is worth investing in a palette that will take you from day to night with minimal fuss.
Urban Decay’s Naked palette is a keeper for the season and will help you go from day to night -contour, build up, cover, base, use singly or do as you please.I like both Naked 2 and Naked 3 though if you are older and have Indian skin tones Naked 3 might be a softer choice. There is Naked Smokey as well which is perfect if you want to build up for a little more glamour. It is always a bonus when brands add a good contouring brush in the box itself.
I have an old favourite- MAC’s Glimmer of Gold palette which I think is really flattering for Indian skin. I often use the light gold solo as a day time wash of colour over the lids sans liner and it is amazing how it brightens up the face.
Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer brick is another old staple ( love both Wild Rose and Bronze ) but the Brightening compact in Coral is another option if you want a little more color on the face. Its not a nude but I couldn’t help adding it. As Indians we tend to go for browns rather than the warm reds and corals which in reality lift up our skin tones.
YSL make up offerings especially their lipsticks are really good and their eye shadow monos are richly pigmented. This is a new palette Couture Variation in Nude. It does need skilful contouring so if that is not your strong point it is not for you.
Chanel is always a go-to for their cream blushes (love Affinity) and lipsticks but their eye shadow quads are worth a look too. I like this palette -very low key and elegant but with the potential to build up discreetly. Very chiffon and pearls and polo 🙂
