Longchamp Fall Winter 2017 : In the Bag

Penelope Arty - Amethyst (3)

Inspired by the 70’s Parisienne and life, French brand Longchamp has four new offerings for FW 2017.  Take a sneak preview and yes, you can pre -order now.

I loved Penelope Arty which pays homage to artist Victor Vasserley and op art . I have been fascinated by the work of both Victor Vasserley and Sonia Delaunay both  eminent names in the op- art, Orphism movement. Even if you don’t know who they are, you will have seen their art in various renditions in sixties and seventies fashion and in many graphic design elements in fashion, art and architecture. But that is to digress.  You can read my preview of the collection which appeared in Mint Lounge here. http://www.livemint.com/Leisure/WjwUi5ic0e9n24Ye81e9WO/Lounge-Loves-Penelope-Arty.html

Check out the four new lines: Penelope Arty for the woman who likes to make a statement , Madeleine for the woman who likes to carry her whole world in her bag but hates unseemly bulges, Mademmoiselle Longchamp ,the classic French hobo and L’Effrontee for the woman who is a little audacious, a little impertinent.

I liked that Effrontee, available in a cross body and bag version is easy to carry together. Layering which was a trend seen on runways at Gucci, Michael Kors and Coach is the art of carrying two or even three bags in different sizes – a small cross body, a tote and a shopping bag all at the same time from the same brand . Or not.  Depending on how you wear your style.

Pre order at the Delhi store at Emporio .

The Mumbai store is scheduled to open  at Palladium Mall in June.

Prices start at Rs 30,000 and move upwards.
