Jardins La Granja, Segovia – Spain memories

Continuing from my last post on Segovia …

Ten kms away from Segovia is the Palaciao Real de la Granja de San Il Defenso. The Royal Palace in short and La Granja for the locals. Six kilometres of beautiful gardens along the lines of Versailles in France, surrounded by mountains and a palace with equally beautiful interiors. Autumn is the recommended season to stroll through . I was there on a very rainy day in Nov 2019 and the colors were beautiful. None of the 26 fountains were working the day we were there – you have to check the time and date for the fountain schedule before you go. The grounds are free to stroll through but the palace has a ticketed entrance.

When you you enter or exit from the main entrance you get the full sweep of the royal mall and ancient trees so plan one view .

A delightful lunch at Paradore Esentia La Granaja hosted by Tourism Segovia
